Hills Guardian Pest Control — Built on Family Values
Back in 1989 — when Crocodile Dundee 2 was released, and no one had ever heard of a smartphone — husband and wife team Jim and Jeanette Harvey founded Hills Guardian Pest Control.
A Family Business
In those long-gone days, it was dedication, love, and pure hard work that allowed the enterprise to operate. With only the two of them working in the business — all duties had to be shared.
Jim was out on the road — spreading awareness of his fledgling enterprise, quoting for work, and performing residential and commercial pest extermination and prevention. Back at home, Jeanette was manning the telephones, responding to correspondence, and attending to the bookwork — all while looking after their three children.
Business and Reputation Growth
Despite the time challenges, the enterprise grew rapidly through word of mouth — thanks to Jim’s reliable and effective service, and Jeanette’s organisation and focus. And, this passion for hard work and familial responsibility was absorbed by their young children — helping out wherever they could in the business while they were still school-age.
After 30 years of trading — and with Hills Guardian Pest Control now a respected name in the Hills District — Jim retired. Despite his disappearance from the front line of pest management — long-term clients still regularly enquire about his wellbeing, and ask for their best wishes to be passed on.
Present Day
Today, the business is run by Jim’s son Troy — with 19 years in the industry, and supported by sister Kristen, Troy works alongside his team of valued technicians.
These priceless staff are not only employed for their proficiency and experience in the pest control arena — but also for having the same commitment to hard work, honesty, and reliability as shown by Jim and Jeanette in those early years. They too, are part of the Hills Guardian Pest Control family.
